Westgate Animal Hospital

Each time I've needed to go there was urgent, and each time I was able to get a quick same day turn-around.

Don’t go here!! My dog was in need of an emergency and the doctor was laughing and being rude and only talking about money while we were all crying so we decided to leave and go to another one and they call us asking if we were going to take her somewhere and we told them yes. A couple of minutes later the animal control calls us saying west gate animal hospital had reported us! Just because we didn’t want a crappy, rude, and money grabbing doctor. I do not recommend this hospital at all.

Bottom line, if your pet is sick and you can't afford treatment, wherever you are, drive to see Dr Walia at Westgate. This wonderful man and his team have saved our cat's life several times while multiple other vets quoted us higher costs we couldn't afford. I have read the rest of the reviews and feel that he is being mischaracterized; yes, he is direct and short in conversation, but when you offer treatment at the cost he does, then every minute spent in conversation with one pet's parent is a minute spent away from saving another pet. All of his techs are warm and caring and I can't recommend Westgate enough. Also, pro tip, if you're here because your male cat has not urinated in over 12 hours and is showing signs of distress, call them now!

10/10 experience. It would be selfish of me not to post this. Having read numerous mixed reviews about Westgate Animal Hospital, I was quite apprehensive about taking my 7-year-old Goldendoodle here. We were referred by another veterinarian to get X-rays to rule out osteosarcoma, and I chose this clinic primarily because the pricing was very reasonable. Well my experience turned out to be quite positive. The staff were wonderful, and listened to my concerns. Dr. Walia approached my dog with genuine care and kindness. He was upfront about the potential issues, and while sometimes the diagnosis can be tough to hear, I appreciate the honesty. Just because someone else has had a bad experience doesn’t mean you will, and I’m glad I chose to come here. I can see why some people might not like his “bedside manner,” but I think that’s the beauty of humanity—we all come from different parts of the world. The important part is that he doesn’t sugarcoat things and focuses on doing his job effectively. I also appreciated the transparency regarding costs; there were no hidden fees, and I was informed about everything beforehand. It made the experience much smoother and less stressful. While I understand that others may have had different experiences, I can confidently say my visit was a good one. We will definitely be back and will use this doctor for future needs because I believe his honesty is a key reason for our trust in him. If you’re looking for straightforward communication and a kind approach, this clinic might be worth considering. Just keep in mind that experiences can vary, but I left feeling my Goldendoodle received excellent care.

Update: I took my cat to a different vet. They ordered Xrays and it turns out that Milo has erosion on the vertebraes. So not fleas. I am so glad I did not listen to this vet. Absolutely will not be going here again. My cat is old and over grooms do to anxiety. I took him in for shots and to get a matted patch looked at. Before I was able to tell him what was going on, he grabbed my cat and started touching his back side to "show me" how male cats behave when you do that. He then told me it was fleas, but he still had not looked at my cat. When I didn't reply the way he wanted, he turned to my male friend and started talking to him instead. I reminded the vet that this is my cat and to speak to me. I then tried to explain my concerns with Milo. The vet put Milo back into his Kennel and told me he wasn't going to help me. I was able to insist on getting shots. After the shots, the vet kept talking down to me, but at least now he was talking to me. Milo's patch was never examined. I have to go to a different vet now to get this issue addressed. I will not be going back.
